Practitioner Certification
Training with Solution Focused Trainers provides practitioners with a route to recognition from IASTI at three levels – Solution-Focused Practitioner/Advanced Solution-Focused Practitioner/Master Solution-Focused Practitioner.
Who is this certification for?
IASTI certification is available to any practitioner who is using the Solution-Focused approach in her or his work and has completed our Solution Focused Trainers Level 3 Certificate in Solution Focused Practice. Solution-Focused Practitioner certification is relevant to practitioners in a wide range of practice settings. Advanced Solution-Focused Practitioner certification provides recognition of knowledge and competence in particular areas such as therapy, counselling coaching and education and more specialist areas as listed on the IASTI website Master Solution-Focused Practitioner certification is relevant to practitioners who have engaged in a substantial period of sustained study and reflection on their use of Solution Focused Practice and have reached a significant degree of expertise and knowledge.
What do people get out of it?
IASTI certification demonstrates to employers and others that that a practitioner’s training in Solution Focused Practice is recognised by an international organisation for the promotion of high quality training in Solution Focused Practice.
What is involved?
Successful completion of the Solution Focused Trainers Level 3 Certificate in Solution Focused Practice provides practitioners with 35 of the 50 taught hours and 30 of the 100 personal professional practice training activities required for certification as a Solution-Focused Practitioner. The remaining hours are achieved through attending two follow up days and guided learning activities which include hours of practice, reflection on practice through a practice log, supervision hours and other learning activities recommended by IASTI.
Certification as an Advanced Solution-Focused Practitioner is achieved through attending seven further follow up days and guided learning activities which include two written assignments, skills practice with a written reflection and a portfolio of evidence which includes a case study, a reflection on learning, a practice log, a second skills practice with a written reflection and a review of research relevant to the practice setting.
Certification as a Master Solution-Focused Practitioner is achieved through attending seven further follow up days and guided learning activities which are jointly designed between the trainer and the practitioner.
Entry requirements
To attain certification, applicants require:
- Completion of the Solution Focused Trainers Level 3 Certificate in Solution Focused Practice
- Ongoing use of the Solution Focused approach in practice
- Access to supervision where there is an opportunity to reflect on practice
